Why visit Tai'an?

Tai'an (泰安) is a mountain township in eastern Miaoli County, Taiwan, primarily inhabited by the Atayal indigenous people. It is famous for its Tai'an Hot Springs (泰安溫泉), one of Taiwan's best hot spring destinations, and its beautiful mountain scenery. The area offers hiking, hot spring resorts, and indigenous culture.

The climate is subtropical. October to April are the best months for hot springs and hiking.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Taichung International Airport (RMQ) is about 60 km south. A taxi takes about 1 hour 10 minutes and costs around NT$1,500–2,000.

By Train

The nearest TRA station is Miaoli Station (30 km west). From Miaoli, take a taxi or bus to Tai'an (40 minutes).

By Car / Road

Tai'an is accessible via Freeway 1 (Miaoli exit) and County Road 62. From Miaoli City, drive east for about 40 minutes. The road is winding.

A car is needed to reach hot spring resorts and trailheads. Some resorts provide shuttle services.
