Why visit Zhuolan?

Zhuolan (卓蘭) is a rural township in southern Miaoli County, Taiwan, located near the Daan River in the foothills of the mountains. It is known for its fruit orchards, particularly grapes and pears, and its scenic countryside. The area is predominantly Hakka.

The climate is humid subtropical. The best time to visit is during the fruit season (June–September). The township is spread out with small villages.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Taichung International Airport (RMQ) is about 45 km south. A taxi takes about 50 minutes and costs around NT$1,100–1,400.

By Train

Zhuolan does not have a TRA station. The nearest station is Yuanli Station (15 km west). From Yuanli, take a taxi.

By Car / Road

Zhuolan is accessible via County Road 140 and Provincial Highway 3. From Miaoli City, drive south for about 40 minutes.

A car or scooter is essential for exploring the orchards.
