Bum

Bum is a village in Qəbələ District in north-central Azerbaijan, located high in the Greater Caucasus foothills about 25 km north of Qabala town. The village is one of the higher settlements in the district, surrounded by dense forest and mountain pastures.

Summers are mild (16–24°C), winters cold with snow (−2 to 5°C). Best visited June–September.

Qabala International Airport (GBB) about 30 km south.

By Car / Road

From Qabala, drive 25 km north (40 min). A taxi costs 15–20 AZN. The road may be unpaved in sections; 4WD recommended.

Walkable. Hiking trails from the village lead to higher ridges.

• Mountain panorama — Bum is surrounded by forested slopes and high ridges.

• Traditional mountain houses — Stone and timber houses typical of the Caucasus.

• Hiking — Trails from Bum connect to the wider Qabala forest network. Ideal for experienced hikers.

• Wild camping — The pastures above the village are suitable for camping.

There is no restaurant in Bum. Visitors should self-cater with supplies from Qabala.
