Why visit Babek?

Babek is a town and the administrative centre of Babek District in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, located about 10 km north of Nakhchivan city. It is named after the 9th-century Persian revolutionary leader Babak Khorramdin, who led a rebellion against the Abbasid Caliphate. The area was the site of his final battle.

Summers are very hot (30–38°C), winters cold (−2 to 5°C).
