Hababa

‘Amrān, Yemen

Why visit Hababa?

Hababa is a historic village in 'Amran Governorate, Yemen, located in a fertile valley northwest of Sana'a. It was once a significant Jewish centre in Yemen, with a well-established community that contributed to the region's silversmithing and crafts traditions. Most of the Jewish population emigrated in the mid-20th century, but physical traces of their presence — including a synagogue and Jewish quarter — remain. The village is also known for its traditional stone architecture and terraced gardens. The climate is pleasant year-round, with the best time to visit between October and April.
