Why visit Khamir?

Khamir is a town in 'Amran Governorate, northern Yemen, situated in the highland region north of Sana'a. It is the administrative centre of Khamir District and a local market hub for the surrounding agricultural communities. The area is known for grain and fruit production, supported by the relatively fertile volcanic soils of the Yemeni highlands. Khamir has a small but historic old quarter with traditional stone architecture. The climate is temperate by Yemeni standards, with cool winters and warm summers; the best travel period is October to April.
