Krong Ana

Krong Ana (also spelled Krông Ana) is a district in south-central Đắk Lắk Province, located about 30 km south of Buon Ma Thuot. The district is named after the Krông Ana River, one of the major waterways of the Central Highlands. It is primarily agricultural, known for coffee, rubber, and rice production, and offers scenic river landscapes and ethnic minority villages.

The climate is typical of the Central Highlands with a dry season from November to April and a rainy season from May to October.

The nearest airport is Buon Ma Thuot Airport (BMV IATA), about 40 km north. A taxi takes roughly 45 minutes.

By Car / Road

Krong Ana is about 30 km south of Buon Ma Thuot on National Route 27, the road towards Da Lat. Buses travelling between Buon Ma Thuot and Da Lat pass through the district.

The district centre is walkable. Motorbikes are the best way to explore the river areas and rural villages.

• Krông Ana River — A scenic river that flows through the district, lined with vegetation and farmland. Popular for riverside walks and photography.
• Dray Nur and Đray Sáp Waterfalls — Located on the Krông Ana River system, about 30 km from Buon Ma Thuot, these impressive waterfalls are accessible from Krong Ana.

Explore the riverbanks and waterfalls by motorbike. Visit local coffee and rubber plantations.

Small restaurants in the district centre serve phở, bún, and cơm tấm. Riverside eateries along the Krông Ana River offer fresh grilled fish and seafood, especially popular at weekends. Meals cost 25,000–60,000 dong.

Coffee is widely available. The region is a significant coffee-producing area.

Basic guesthouses (nhà nghỉ) near the market and bus stop offer simple rooms from 150,000–250,000 dong. Most visitors prefer to stay in Buon Ma Thuot, 30 km north, and visit the district as a day trip.

Locally grown coffee and rubber products are available at the district market.
