Krong Pac

Krong Pac (also spelled Krông Pắc) is a district in south-central Đắk Lắk Province, located about 40 km south of Buon Ma Thuot. The district lies along National Route 27, the main road connecting Buon Ma Thuot to Da Lat. It is known for its coffee and fruit plantations and is home to a significant Ê-đê ethnic minority population.

The climate features a dry season from November to April and a rainy season from May to October. The elevation provides comfortable temperatures year-round.

The nearest airport is Buon Ma Thuot Airport (BMV IATA), about 50 km north. A taxi takes roughly one hour.

By Car / Road

Krong Pac is about 40 km south of Buon Ma Thuot on National Route 27, making it easily accessible by bus from both Buon Ma Thuot and Da Lat.

The district centre is walkable. Motorbikes are the best way to reach outlying villages and plantations.

• Coffee and fruit plantations — The district produces coffee, durian, and avocados on the fertile volcanic soils.
• Ê-đê longhouses — Traditional stilt houses in the rural areas offer cultural interest.
• Scenic mountain views — The approach from Buon Ma Thuot passes through attractive highland scenery.

Explore the countryside by motorbike. Visit during the durian season for fresh tropical fruit.

Small eateries along National Route 27 serve phở, cơm tấm, and bún to travellers passing through. Roadside stalls sell fresh durian, avocado, and coffee drinks. Several quán nhậu (Vietnamese beer pubs) offer grilled meats and cold beer in the evenings.

Coffee is excellent. This is a significant coffee-producing district.

Basic guesthouses (nhà nghỉ) near the bus stop along National Route 27 offer rooms from 150,000–250,000 dong. Most visitors stay in Buon Ma Thuot, 40 km north, or continue south to Da Lat.

Coffee, durian, avocados, and other tropical fruit are available at local markets and roadside stalls.

• Lak Lake — 30 km west. A large scenic lake with boat trips and minority villages.
