Koboko
Northern, Uganda
Why visit Koboko?
Koboko is the northernmost town in Uganda, located in the West Nile sub-region near the borders of South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It serves as the administrative headquarters of Koboko District and is a strategic trading post at the convergence of three countries. The cross-border trade creates a lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The Kakwa people are the dominant ethnic group, and Kakwa is the local language alongside English and Arabic. The town has a distinctly frontier character.
