Why visit Fengbin?

Fengbin (豐濱) is a coastal township in eastern Hualien County, Taiwan, stretching along the Pacific coast south of Hualien City. The area is known for its dramatic coastal scenery, indigenous Amis culture, and the famous Shitiping (石梯坪) — a striking coastal terrace of volcanic rock formations.

The climate is tropical. October to April are the best months. The township is long and narrow, with small fishing villages strung along the coastal highway.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Hualien Airport (HUN) is about 50 km north. A taxi takes about 1 hour and costs around NT$1,200–1,500.

By Train

Fengbin does not have a TRA station. The nearest station is Fenglin Station (20 km west). From Fenglin, take a bus or taxi east through the mountains to the coast.

By Car / Road

Fengbin is accessible via Provincial Highway 11 (the coastal highway). From Hualien City, drive south for about 1 hour. The coastal highway is one of Taiwan's most scenic drives.

A car or scooter is essential for exploring the dispersed coastal attractions.
