Katsina-Ala is a town in eastern Benue State, situated on the Katsina-Ala River, a major tributary of the Benue River. It is the headquarters of Katsina-Ala LGA and an important centre for fishing and agriculture. The town is predominantly inhabited by the Tiv people.

The climate is tropical with a rainy season from April to October. The dry season (November–March) is the best time to visit.
