Otukpo

Otukpo is the main city of the Idoma people in southern Benue State. It is the headquarters of Otukpo LGA and a major commercial and cultural centre for the Idoma nation. The town is an important agricultural market, particularly for yams, cassava, and rice.

The climate is tropical with a rainy season from April to October. The dry season (November–March) is the best time to visit.

Otukpo is on the main Enugu–Makurdi road. Buses run from Makurdi (1 hr), Enugu (2 hrs), and Abuja (4 hrs).
