Ugbokolo is a town in central Benue State and the largest town in Okpokwu Local Government Area, whose administrative headquarters sit at Okpoga. Ugbokolo is home to Benue State Polytechnic, the first higher institution established in Idoma Land, and is known for the Ugbokolo Market, a major trading centre for the surrounding Idoma communities. The local population speaks a dialect of Idoma and is predominantly engaged in farming, with citrus fruits, maize, cassava, and groundnuts the main produce.

The climate is tropical with a rainy season from April to October.
