Why visit Phoenix?
Phoenix is a town in the Plaines Wilhems District of Mauritius, located on the central plateau between Quatre Bornes and Vacoas. It is one of the island's main commercial and industrial centres, home to many businesses, shopping complexes, and the headquarters of the State Bank of Mauritius. The town's name is unrelated to the US city of the same name.

Phoenix is located on the A1 motorway and is well served by public transport. The Metro Express light rail has a station in Phoenix, connecting it directly to Port Louis, Rose Hill, and Curepipe. Buses from all neighbouring towns stop frequently. Taxis are readily available.
The town centre is compact enough for walking. For longer journeys, buses and taxis serve the surrounding areas. The Metro Express station makes travel to Port Louis (30 minutes) and Curepipe (10 minutes) convenient.
What are the things to do?
Phoenix is primarily a commercial hub. The Bagatelle Mall is one of the largest shopping centres on the island, with international brands, a supermarket, and a food court. The surrounding area has several modern office towers and industrial parks.
Shopping at Bagatelle Mall is the main draw. The mall has a cinema, a bowling alley, and a kids' play area. The nearby Moka Range offers short hiking trails for nature lovers.

Bagatelle Mall's food court has a wide selection including Chinese, Indian, Creole, Italian, and fast food. The surrounding area has several local Creole restaurants and bakeries.

Phoenix has a few business-oriented hotels near the Bagatelle area, including the Voila Hotel (MUR 4,000–6,000) and some smaller guesthouses. For a wider selection, Curepipe (6 km south) and Port Louis (15 km north) offer more variety.

Bagatelle Mall has over 100 shops including international fashion brands, electronics, homeware, and a large supermarket. Phoenix also has several independent shops and convenience stores.
