Beau Bassin lies on the A1 motorway, about 5 km south of Port Louis. Buses from Port Louis (Victoria Square) and Curepipe serve the area frequently. The Metro Express light rail has a station at Beau Bassin, providing fast connections to Port Louis and Curepipe.
The town is walkable in parts but spread out. Buses and taxis connect the neighbourhoods. The Metro Express station makes commuting and regional travel easy.
