Why visit Lubuklinggau?

Lubuklinggau is an autonomous city in South Sumatra province, formerly part of Musi Rawas Regency until it separated as its own administrative city in 2001. Historically, during Indonesia's 1945–1949 revolutionary war, Lubuklinggau served as the seat of the Indonesian National Army's highest command in South Sumatra (SUBKOSS); this history is commemorated by the Subkoss Garuda Sriwijaya monument (built 1986–87) and an accompanying war museum holding around 184 historical items. Today the city is mainly a transit hub on the Trans-Sumatra Highway between Palembang and Bengkulu.
