Reykjanesbaer

Reykjanesbær is a municipality on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwest Iceland, formed in 1994 when the towns of Keflavík and Njarðvík and the village of Hafnir voted to merge. Keflavík International Airport, Iceland's main gateway for international flights, sits within the municipality, having grown out of a 1940s US military airfield that later hosted the Cold War-era Naval Air Station Keflavik.
