Sarraméa is about 130 km north of Nouméa, roughly a 2-hour drive via RT1 then RP5. The road into the mountains is winding and climbs significantly. There is no public transport — a car is essential.
The commune is small and walkable at its center, but a car is needed to access hiking trailheads and surrounding areas. Roads are narrow and can be rough.
