Païta is about a 15-minute drive from central Nouméa via Route Territoriale 1 or the Voie Express. Public buses from Nouméa serve Païta regularly. La Tontouta International Airport is also nearby (10 minutes north).
A car is the most practical way to get around Païta, as the commune is spread out along the main road. The commercial areas have parking. Local buses serve the main route.
