About Menge

Menge is a small highland settlement in the Benshangul-Gumaz Region of western Ethiopia, situated on the road between Asosa and the eastern zones of the region. It sits at a higher elevation than most of the region, giving it a cooler, greener climate. Menge serves as a minor agricultural market centre for the surrounding farming communities, who grow grain, coffee, and oilseeds.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Asosa (ASO IATA), about 100 km west, with domestic flights from Addis Ababa.

By Train

By Car / Road

Menge is on a secondary road east of Asosa. Minibuses from Asosa make the journey in about 2–3 hours, though services are infrequent.

The settlement is walkable. Bajajs are rare; most locals walk.
