Why visit Trang Bom?

Trang Bom is a district in central Đồng Nai province, located about 45 km northeast of Bien Hoa along National Highway 1A. The district is a significant agricultural area, known for its pepper plantations, fruit orchards, and rubber estates. Trang Bom town serves as the district's commercial and administrative centre.

The area has traditionally been agricultural, with vast pepper vines supported on concrete posts being a distinctive sight across the landscape. In recent years, Trang Bom has seen some industrial development along the national highway corridor, but it remains predominantly rural and agricultural.

The climate is tropical monsoon with a dry season from November to April and a rainy season from May to October. Temperatures average 25–35°C year-round.

How do you get there?

By Plane

The nearest airport is Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, approximately 70 km southwest. A taxi costs 500,000–700,000 dong and takes 1–1.5 hours.

By Train

Trang Bom Railway Station is on the North-South Reunification Express line, with limited services stopping. Trains from Ho Chi Minh City to Trang Bom take about 1.5 hours.

By Car / Road

Trang Bom is on National Highway 1A, the main north-south road through Vietnam. Regular buses from Ho Chi Minh City and Bien Hoa pass through Trang Bom. Driving from Bien Hoa takes 40–50 minutes.

The district centre is compact and walkable. Taxis and xe om are available for short trips. Motorbike rental is the best option for exploring the rural areas and pepper plantations.

Trang Bom is one of the best places in Đồng Nai to buy high-quality black pepper. Cashew nuts, dried fruits, and rubber products are also available. The district market sells fresh local produce at very reasonable prices.
