Why visit Bien Hoa?

Bien Hoa is the capital city of Đồng Nai province in Southern Vietnam, situated about 30 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. As the largest city in Đồng Nai, it serves as a major industrial and commercial hub within the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area. The city has a population of over 1.1 million and is known for its ceramics industry, which dates back centuries.

The city has a long history dating to the 17th century when Vietnamese settlers from the north established communities along the Đồng Nai River. Bien Hoa played a significant role during the Vietnam War, hosting a major US airbase that is now the Bien Hoa Airport. Today, the city is a key economic centre with numerous industrial parks and is experiencing rapid urbanisation while preserving pockets of cultural heritage.

Bien Hoa has a tropical monsoon climate with two distinct seasons. The dry season from November to April offers the most pleasant weather for visiting, while the rainy season from May to October brings frequent afternoon downpours. Temperatures remain warm year-round, averaging 27–35°C.
