Thong Nhat
Đồng Nai, Viet Nam
Why visit Thong Nhat?
Thong Nhat is a district in northwest Đồng Nai province, located about 65 km northeast of Bien Hoa. The district is largely agricultural, known for its coffee plantations, pepper farms, and fruit orchards set amidst rolling hills. Thong Nhat town is the administrative centre and market town for the surrounding farming communities.
The name "Thong Nhat" means "Unity" in Vietnamese. The district was established in the late 20th century from parts of neighbouring districts. It remains one of Đồng Nai's less populated and more rural areas, offering a glimpse of traditional countryside life away from the industrial development found elsewhere in the province.
The climate is tropical monsoon with slightly cooler temperatures than southern Đồng Nai due to its higher elevation. The dry season runs November–April, while May–October brings monsoon rains. Temperatures range from 23–33°C.
