The climate features a dry season from November to April and a rainy season from May to October. The slightly higher elevation provides cool mornings and evenings.

By Plane
The nearest airport is Buon Ma Thuot Airport (BMV IATA), about 80 km north. A taxi takes roughly 1.5 hours.
By Car / Road
Ea Kar is on National Route 27, the main road connecting Buon Ma Thuot to Da Lat, about 70 km south of Buon Ma Thuot and 130 km north of Da Lat. Buses between the two cities pass through the district.
The town centre is walkable. Motorbikes are available for hire in Buon Ma Thuot and are the best way to explore the surrounding countryside.
