Ruvuma, Tanzania

Why visit Tunduru?

Tunduru is a town in eastern Ruvuma Region, situated close to the Ruvuma River that forms the border with Mozambique. It is an important agricultural centre, known for tobacco, cashew nuts, and sesame production. The town serves the surrounding farming communities and is a minor transport node for the eastern part of the region.

Tunduru is off the main tourist trail and has limited infrastructure for visitors. Its location near the Mozambique border gives it a small cross-border trade character. The climate is tropical, with distinct wet and dry seasons.
