Why visit Shoufeng?

Shoufeng (壽豐) is a township in north-central Hualien County, Taiwan, located in the Huatung Valley south of Hualien City. It is best known as the home of National Dong Hwa University, one of Taiwan's most beautiful university campuses. The area is a mix of agricultural land, university facilities, and scenic countryside.

The climate is tropical. October to April offer the most pleasant weather. The township is spread out, with small villages and farms.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Hualien Airport (HUN) is about 25 km north. A taxi takes about 30 minutes and costs around NT$600–800.

By Train

Shoufeng Station (壽豐車站) is on the TRA east coast line. From Hualien Station, the journey takes about 15 minutes (NT$40–60).

By Car / Road

Shoufeng is accessible via Provincial Highway 9. From Hualien City, drive south for about 20 minutes.

The university campus is walkable. For exploring the wider township, a car or scooter is recommended.
