Why visit Liberacion?
Liberación is a district in San Pedro department, about 200 km from Asunción on Route PY03 (Ruta General Elizardo Aquino). It is a relatively young district, formally created by law on 24 June 2011 out of territory split from the neighboring districts of Choré and Guayaibí; the area was previously known as Cruce Liberación and administered under Choré, though its boundary was disputed with Guayaibí. It has around 19,100 residents (2022 census), with an economy based on mixed farming and ranching (agroganadería) and local commerce.
