Paso de Patria

Ñeembucú, Paraguay

Why visit Paso de Patria?

Paso de Patria is a historic river crossing and fortification site in southern Ñeembucú department, at the confluence of the Paraguay and Paraná rivers. It was a strategic Allied position during the Triple Alliance War, and the surrounding area still bears the earthworks and trenches of the defensive lines. Today it is a quiet fishing village with a significant historical legacy. The climate is subtropical; the dry season (May–September) offers the best conditions for exploration.
