Alberdi is a small town in western Ñeembucú department, located on the Paraguay River near the Argentine border. It is named after the Argentine writer Juan Bautista Alberdi. The town is a quiet river port with a fishing community and limited infrastructure. It offers a peaceful riverside setting and a glimpse into the slow-paced life of the Paraguayan riverbank. The climate is subtropical; best visited May–September.

No passenger rail.

By Car / Road

Alberdi is accessible via secondary roads from Pilar (60 km south, 1.5 hr) or via the border crossing from Formosa, Argentina. Road conditions can be poor. Buses from Pilar run a few times weekly.
