Kaiama is a historic town and the headquarters of Kaiama local government area in Kwara State. It is the traditional capital of the Kaiama Emirate, a Borgu Fulani-Yoruba settlement with a rich cavalry tradition. The Emir's Palace is a notable landmark, and the annual Kaiama Durbar and Uhola festivals feature horse-riding displays, traditional music, and parades. The economy is based on farming (sorghum, millet, cowpeas) and livestock rearing.

By Plane

Ilorin International Airport (ILR) is about 180 km south.

By Car / Road

Kaiama is on the Ilorin–Kishi road, about 3 hours north-west of Ilorin. Buses from Ilorin serve the route.
