The town is known for the Opa Asunrun (a traditional staff) and the annual Igogo festival.

Ilorin International Airport (ILR) is about 100 km north-west.

By Car / Road

Omu-Aran is on the Ilorin–Oshogbo road, about 1.5 hours south of Ilorin. Buses from Ilorin pass through.
