The Patigi Regatta, an annual boat-racing and cultural festival on the Niger, is the town's major event. Rice and sugarcane are also cultivated in the floodplain.

Ilorin International Airport (ILR) is about 150 km south.

By Car / Road

Patigi is north of Lafiagi on the road to Mokwa. Buses from Ilorin (2.5 hr) serve the route. The road can be rough.
