It is a quiet agricultural town in the Igbomina Yoruba area known for yam, cassava, and maize production. The town has a vibrant weekly market that draws farmers from surrounding villages, and a traditional ruler, the Olofa of Share, who presides over local customs. Its central location in the Ifelodun area makes it a transit stop for travellers moving between Ilorin and the northern Kwara towns. The community observes traditional Igbomina festivals including the Egungun masquerade season.
