Urlabari

Urlabari is a municipality in Morang District, located in the eastern Terai between the Koshi River and the Chure foothills. It is primarily an agricultural market town serving the surrounding rice, sugarcane, and vegetable farming region. The town has experienced steady growth and is known for its lively local bazaar.

The climate is humid subtropical with hot summers, a monsoon season (June–September), and mild winters. The best time to travel is between October and March.

By Plane

Biratnagar Airport (BIR) is 30 km south. A taxi costs around Rs 1000–1500.

By Train

No passenger railway. The nearest Indian railhead is Jogbani, about 40 km south.

By Car / Road

Urlabari is connected by road to Biratnagar (30 km, 1 hour, Rs 150–250 by bus) and Itahari (35 km west). Buses run regularly from Biratnagar's main bus park.

Rickshaws and tempos are the main local transport. The town centre is walkable.
