Why visit Phidim?

Phidim is the district headquarters of Panchthar District, perched on a scenic ridge in the eastern hills of Nepal at an elevation of about 1,200 m. It is known for its panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga massif and its role as a trading centre linking the Terai to the remote mountain regions. The town has a traditional character with narrow lanes and a weekly market that draws villagers from the surrounding hills.

The climate is subtropical highland with mild summers, a monsoon from June to September, and cool winters. The best time to visit is March–May or September–November. The town is compact and oriented along the main ridge road.
