Hile

Koshi, Nepal

Why visit Hile?

Hile is a picturesque hill station in Dhankuta District, perched on a ridge at approximately 1,200 m along the main road connecting the Terai to the Everest and Makalu regions. It is a popular stopover for travellers heading to and from the Khumbu and Makalu trekking areas, offering one of the most accessible panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas in Nepal. On clear days, the view stretches from Kanchenjunga to Everest and beyond.

The climate is subtropical highland with pleasant summers, a monsoon from June to September, and cool winters. The best time to visit is September–November for crystal-clear skies and March–May for rhododendron blooms. The town is strung along the ridge road.
