Why visit Itahari?

Itahari is a rapidly growing sub-metropolitan city located at the junction of the Koshi Highway and the Mahendra Highway in eastern Nepal, making it a key transit hub connecting the Terai plains to the hill districts. Situated in Sunsari District, Itahari has emerged as a commercial and educational centre with a steadily growing population. Its strategic location at the crossroads of Nepal's two major east-west and north-south highways drives its economic activity.

The climate is humid subtropical with hot summers (April–June), a heavy monsoon season (June–September), and mild winters (October–February). The best time to visit is from October to March. The city is spread along the highway corridors with commercial activity concentrated around the main chowk intersections.
