Inaruwa is a municipality in Sunsari District, situated on the north bank of the Koshi River in eastern Nepal. It is an important market and administrative centre for surrounding rural areas, known for its traditional bazaar and the unique island settlement of Prakashpur on the Koshi River. The town's location along the Koshi Highway makes it a convenient stop between Dharan and the Koshi Barrage.
The climate is humid subtropical with hot summers (April–June), a heavy monsoon (June–September), and mild winters (October–February). March to November offers the best conditions for travel.

By Plane
Biratnagar Airport (BIR) is 40 km south-east. A taxi costs around Rs 1500–2000 and takes about 1 hour.
By Train
No passenger railway. The nearest Indian railhead is Jogbani, about 45 km south.
By Car / Road
Inaruwa is on the Koshi Highway connecting Itahari (20 km west) to Dharan (10 km north). Buses from Biratnagar (Rs 150–250), Itahari (Rs 50–100), and Kathmandu (via Itahari) serve the town regularly.
Rickshaws and tempos are the main local transport. The town is compact and walkable.
