Pointe aux Piments

Pointe aux Piments is a coastal village on the northwest coast of Mauritius, located south of Trou aux Biches. It has a pleasant public beach with calm swimming waters and several resort hotels lining the shore. The area is quieter than Grand Baie but provides easy access to both the capital and the northern resort strip.

Pointe aux Piments is on the coastal road, 5 km south of Trou aux Biches. Buses from Port Louis and Grand Baie serve the area. A taxi from Port Louis costs around MUR 400.

The beachfront is walkable. For exploring the wider area, taxis and buses are readily available.

Pointe aux Piments has several mid-range to upscale resort hotels ranging from MUR 5,000 to MUR 15,000 per night.

A few small shops near the beach sell drinks, snacks, and basic supplies. For shopping, Grand Baie (8 km north) has a wide selection.

Port Louis (15 km south) — capital city with Caudan Waterfront and museums. Trou aux Biches (5 km north) — excellent swimming beach. Grand Baie (8 km north) — shopping, dining, and nightlife.
