Pereybere

Pereybere is a small, lively beach on the north coast of Mauritius, just north of Grand Baie. It is popular with families, budget travellers, and locals for its calm, clear waters and excellent swimming. The beach is fringed with casuarina trees and has a relaxed, party atmosphere on weekends.

Pereybere is 3 km north of Grand Baie on the coastal road. Buses from Grand Baie and Port Louis stop nearby. A taxi from Grand Baie costs around MUR 150.

The beach area is walkable. Buses connect to Grand Baie and other north coast beaches.

Pereybere Beach is the main attraction — a sandy cove with shallow, protected water.

Swimming, snorkelling (the reef is close to shore), and sunbathing. The beach has a lively atmosphere with music and beachside activities.

Several beachfront restaurants and snack bars serve grilled fish, Creole dishes, and fast food.

Beach bars sell cold beer, cocktails, and fresh coconut water.

Pereybere has many self-catering apartments and guesthouses (MUR 2,000–5,000 per night). Budget-friendly compared to Grand Baie.

A few small shops and stalls sell beachwear, snacks, and drinks.

Grand Baie (3 km south) — shopping and nightlife. Mont Choisy (2 km north) — long beach. Cap Malheureux (6 km north) — scenic viewpoint.
