Tyup (Kyrgyz: Түп) is a village on the northeastern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, about 40 km north of Karakol. It is the administrative centre of Tyup District. The population is about 10,000. The village sits at the mouth of the Tyup River valley, near the lake's eastern end.
The area is known for its apple orchards and agricultural production. The climate is continental: warm summers (25-30°C) and cold winters (-5 to -15°C). Summer is the best time to visit.

By Plane
The nearest airport is in Tamchy (IKU IATA), about 160 km west.
By Car / Road
Marshrutkas from Karakol take about 40 minutes (50–80 som). Shared taxis cost 300–500 som. The road continues east toward the Kegen border crossing to Kazakhstan.
