Why visit Bosteri?

Bosteri (Kyrgyz: Бостери) is a resort village on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, about 15 km east of Cholpon-Ata and 135 km west of Karakol. It is one of the most popular beach resort destinations on the lake, with a long stretch of sandy beach and numerous sanatoriums, guesthouses, and entertainment options.

In summer, Bosteri comes alive with holidaymakers from across Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The climate is mild (25-30°C in summer) with clean lake water. The season runs from June to September.

By Plane

Tamchy Airport (IKU IATA) is about 45 km west.

By Car / Road

Marshrutkas from Bishkek and Cholpon-Ata pass through Bosteri. From Cholpon-Ata, marshrutkas take about 20 minutes (30–50 som).

The village is walkable along the lakefront.
