Why visit Sary-Oy?

Sary-Oy (Kyrgyz: Сары-Ой, meaning "Yellow Valley") is a small village on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, about 30 km east of Cholpon-Ata and 120 km west of Karakol. The population is about 2,000. It is a quiet resort village with sandy beaches and a relaxed atmosphere.

The village is less developed than the larger resorts of Cholpon-Ata and Bosteri, offering a more peaceful lake experience. The climate is mild in summer (25-30°C). The season runs June to September.
