Kisaran

Sumatera, Indonesia

Why visit Kisaran?

Kisaran is the administrative capital of Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, sitting on the Trans-Sumatra Highway (the east-coast trunk road, and also served by rail) rather than on the inland route toward Lake Toba. It is a working town in a major palm-oil and rubber plantation region, and functions mainly as a transit and service hub rather than a tourist destination in its own right. Tanjungbalai, the port city Asahan Regency surrounds but no longer administers, lies further along the coast.
