Kota Agung Pusat is the seat of Tanggamus Regency in Lampung province, sitting at the foot of Mount Tanggamus on the coast of Teluk Semaka (Semangka Bay). It serves as the gateway and permit-issuing town for the adjacent Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park, and lies along the route toward the Krui surfing coast further north.
