How do you get there?

Alençon is accessible by train from Paris (Gare Montparnasse) via the TER Normandie line, with the journey taking roughly 2 hours. The A28 motorway connects Alençon to Le Mans and Rouen. Regional buses serve surrounding towns in the Orne department.

The historic center is walkable, with most attractions concentrated around the Place de la Magdeleine and the Maison d'Ozé. The train station is within walking distance of the old town. For trips to nearby attractions, a car is useful.
