Kobo is a small agricultural town in the Amara Region of northern Ethiopia, situated on Highway 1 between Dessie and Mekelle at about 2,000 m elevation. It serves the surrounding highland farming communities as a trading centre for cereals, pulses, and oilseeds. The town enjoys a temperate climate with a distinct rainy season from June to September.

The nearest airports are Kombolcha (DSE IATA), 100 km south, and Mekelle (MQX IATA), 80 km north.

By Car / Road

Kobo lies on Highway 1 between Dessie (100 km south, 2 hours) and Mekelle (80 km north, 1.5 hours). Buses and minibuses running the Addis Ababa–Mekelle route pass through.

Kobo is small and walkable. Bajajs are available for local trips.
