Badr City
Al Qāhirah, Egypt
Why visit Badr City?
Badr City is a planned satellite city in the Eastern Desert on the Cairo–Suez Highway, about 47 km east of Cairo, established in 1982 by prime ministerial decree and administered by the New Urban Communities Authority. It has grown into a major industrial hub — its industrial zone hosts hundreds of factories, largely export-oriented, benefiting from a multi-year tax exemption and proximity to Cairo International Airport, the Suez Canal, and the Nile Delta. Its 2017 census population was just over 31,000. Badr functions primarily as an industrial and residential satellite rather than a tourist stop.
