Majibacoa

Las Tunas, Cuba

Why visit Majibacoa?

Majibacoa is a small town in central Las Tunas Province, located about 40 km south of the provincial capital. With a population of around 8,000, it is a rural agricultural community set amid sugar cane fields and cattle ranches. The town has a quiet, unhurried character and is essentially unknown to international tourists.

The town's economy is based on sugar cane cultivation and livestock. The surrounding terrain is flat to gently rolling, typical of Cuba's eastern interior plains. The climate is tropical, with hot summers (30–33°C) and a rainy season from May to October. The best time to visit is from November to April.

Majibacoa follows the standard layout of a Cuban rural town: a central park, a church, and basic services, surrounded by modest residential areas and agricultural land.
