Ugarchin is a town located along the Kamenitsa River in Lovech Province in central northern Bulgaria. It is the administrative centre of Ugarchin Municipality, about 30 km west of Lovech. The town sits at the northern foot of the Balkan Mountains in a basin surrounded by small hills. The town holiday takes place on 22 March and the traditional Autumn Fair is on 22 September.

How do you get there?

By Plane

The nearest international airports are Sofia (SOF) about 150 km southwest and Plovdiv (PDV) about 170 km southeast. Buses from Sofia to Lovech connect onward to Ugarchin.

By Train

There is no railway station in Ugarchin. The nearest train station is in Lovech, about 30 km east, with regular bus connections to Ugarchin.

By Car / Road

Ugarchin is accessible via the III-301 road connecting Lovech with the northwest. From Lovech, drive about 30 km west on the local road.

The town centre of Ugarchin is compact and walkable. Local buses connect the main districts and nearby attractions. Taxis are available from the bus station.
